New-Zealand Wines
The New Zealand wine industry dates back to 1819 but has evolved dramatically during the past fifteen years. Now considered by many to be the world's finest producer of Sauvignon Blanc (Cloudy Bay), it also produces world class Chardonnays (Cloudy Bay). The main wine producing regions are Hawke's Bay, Gisborne, Auckland and Waikato on the North Island and Marlborough, Nelson and Canterbury on the South Island.
